When in Berlin

My week in Berlin might be over, but all the memories and different experiences will stay with me.
Our apartment was in Mitte in the center of Berlin, and the U-Bahn station was right next to us, so getting around was a piece of cake. We spent the first few days getting to know the touristy side of the city, so there was a lot of sightseeing and walking about town. We did the Free Walking Tour by Sandeman, visited the Museum Island, the Reichstag and so many more of the main Berlin sights.

There wasn’t enough time for a decent shopping spree but I couldn’t pass the chance to pop into a couple of stores and get some of the things I wanted (and some that the lovely Luisa had suggested). So, I hit Primark (which is a weakness of mine, and my friends also adored it), DM and Douglas. We also ended up in a flea market in Tiergarten one day by chance , and I loved it because I have a soft spot for vintage objects.

We walked pretty much all around Berlin but the areas that certainly stood out to me the most were Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. There was something very homey about these districts, they were always full of life, beautiful street art and interesting people.

Then, we decided to have a little getaway from the city and visit some towns nearby like Potsdam, Lehde, Lübbenau and Oranienburg. The highlight of our trip, though, was probably Spreewald, a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. It's such a picturesque region and strolling along the river in a canoe was a unique and very fun experience for all of us.
